## The server computer (where the Constructor database is installed)

> ⚠️ For smaller sites this can be a powerful workstation in the office.

- The workstation/computer/server/virtual machine that will hold the database cannot be the domain controller.
- Operating system: 64-bit version of Windows 11 Professional edition/ Windows Server 2022 or greater.
- CPU:
  - up to 4 users → Minimum four cores
  - 5+ users → Minimum eight cores
- RAM:
  - up to 4 users → 16 GB Minimum
  - 5+ users → 32 GB or greater
- Storage: SSD drive. The available space is subjected to the database size.
  - If the automatic backups are also stored on the same drive, they should be taken into consideration.
- Database:  
MS SQL Server 2025 is recommended, while SQL Server 2022 is also supported. The SQL Server Express edition will be sufficient for most businesses. If necessary, upgrade to a standard license. Note that the SQL Server Express edition has certain [restrictions](https://constructor-software.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/VER3/pages/913319421), such as database size, CPU usage, and memory usage.
- Active internet connection with enough bandwidth to download Constructor software updates and facilitate communication with Constructor web service. A minimum of 50 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload is recommended.

> ⚠️ **FileStream is required for the MS SQL instance.**

> ⚠️ - *Many managed SQL services do not allow this.*
> ⚠️ - ARM64 Processors do not support MS SQL (Apple M Processes)

> ℹ️ It is recommended to install the Constructor Server Manager software on the same computer where the MS SQL Server is installed.


## Workstation computer (where the Constructor software is installed)

- Operating system: 64-bit Windows operating system that supports [.NET Framework 4.8](https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/net48)
- CPU: Minimum 4 cores, Recommended 6 cores
- RAM: Minimum 8 GB, 16 GB recommended
- Network connection: Must be connected to the same network as the server computer (this can be done via VPN, remote desktop etc)
- Display/Monitor: 1080p (Full HD), 100% display scale is recommended.
- Active internet connection with enough bandwidth to download Constructor Workstation updates.

> ℹ️ When the same computer is acting as both the server and the workstation, refer to the server computer requirements section

> ⚠️ When the display/monitor is set to 1080p (Full HD), increasing the scaling above 100% may result in inadequate space for line items in certain edit forms, such as the Purchase Order and Invoice edit forms. Therefore, it is recommended that the display scale be set to 100%.
