Yes you can run Constructor on a local server or on a remote Cloud server. There are some limitations around remote servers which you can read below.

> ℹ️ **For remote access Constructor recommends running an on-site Server / + Workstation, and connecting to the office network VIA VPN. Then connecting to a local workstation via Remote Desktop. See ****[Can I access Constructor Remotely?](https://constructor-software.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/VER3/pages/913319377)**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ We do not recommend connecting VIA VPN straight to the Server. You must consider the bandwidth requirements of Constructor. Due to the complexity of Estimating and Take-off some pages require high data transfer, which on typical Australian upload speeds is only possible via RDP optimisations. > ⚠️ **Constructor requires a windows MS SQL installation** to run in the cloud along with the feature ‘File Streaming’ enabled. Some managed MS SQL offerings may not support File Streaming and may not be compatible.

If you wish to use a service provider your networking speeds may vary. For example Amazon Web Services offers windows AMIs: [https://aws.amazon.com/windows/resources/amis/](https://aws.amazon.com/windows/resources/amis/) .

> ⚠️ Please be more considerate of your security & authorization concerns, as running any software off premise does come with more inherent risk.
